New issue of Color Magazine

Thursday, November 20 / 2008

The Red Bull shoot to thrill issue just got into my hands. Make sure you come out to Vogue Theatre Tonight on Granville street to see all the amazing videos from the weekend. All the videos and photos for the contest were shot in 72 hours and we only had 10 rolls of 16mm film so it made the weekend very difficult. Here is the cover to keep yours eyes open for on new stands now, and some photos I got inside.
They asked me to write something about my self so I got Frank Daniello to write it, it turned out pretty funny, thanks FD.

Ryan Decenzo switch barley grind.

Paul Machnau interview taken from the Redbull weekend.

An article on the video.

Some Strange brew stuff I shot. This video is going to rock the Canadian Scene!!

Paul Treps RDS ad,, are you kidding me ?? Switch flip to frontside boardslide, the weird part is how easy this was. Down a ten stair rail too!

Indy ad with Sascha Daley, full cab down the UBC 14 stair. Below is an outtake of Sascha kicking his board into my face. It didn't feel good.

Just thought I'd post a couple pics from Friday night at Barnone and Canvas. The Indy Party and Lee side was some of the best partying I've seen in the skateboard world on Saturday night. I have to save them for something else , extra's to be posted soon.

Montana is full of hidden gems

Tuesday, October 28 / 2008

The Police loved my driving skills. Gems meaning spots that is, if you know where you're going it can be plentyfull. Here's a couple of extra photos that show what we got up to on the side lines.

It's a long drive, lots of beer means lots of stops.

Kyle pulls a frontside board pop out on campus, spot heaven.

Cory jumps to test the waters.

This ditch went on forever, full of curves, hips, and guard rails. Fun for photos but hell to skate.

We woke this guy up as we barged the spot, he was super cool, I tried to get a photo of his one tooth but it was camera shy.

"that would be a good spot for some portraits" I say from the van. Little did I know it was on top of a mountain that I had to carry my gear up.

We spent 4 hours in these hot springs, this is what your hands would look like too. It was also so hot in spots that you couldn't dunk your head in. I wish this was my backyard.

Rex fell super hard over a street gap, he's a tall guy which means he has a long way to fall.

The skatepark was amazing, Sascha backside tail's to fakie.

You can see Victor in the back watching for boards, that guy got one in the ladder.
More photos to come , full story in a magazine soon. And I'll be back when the spring comes!!

Congratulations !

I went to Mike McDermott's Pro Habitat board release the other night at Antisocial. Great board design and shape. Keep up the good work Mike. Check out the Inhabitants video's bonus section, International team to see why Mike deserves getting a board with his name on it.

Also been working on some new drawings this winter, hopefully I'll get this one finished before the sun comes out.

Been a busy week shooting while it's dry in Vancouver, before you know it it'll be raining for 5 months. Here's a couple of bail pics from this week.

Just wanted to say congrats to Spencer for a well deserved Expedition ad and a great seq. I didn't shoot the trick but I did take the portrait used, thanks Matt from Kayo for hooking that up.

Spencer smithgrinds for fun at hotspot.

Paul Trep getting some last tricks in before the winter arrives, as you can see here it's well on it's way.

This guy almost ate it as he ripped some tricks through the parking lot as we skated across the street.
Been heading to UBC lately quite a bit, good spots but security is getting keen.

Sascha taking a break from skating hard

Jordan Hoffart get's in behind the lens.

Mike Vince waxes a new ledge, this thing is not easy.

Russ Milligan and Sascha will both have amazing clips in Strange Brew, word is it's out soon.

Scott Decenzo warms up by running up and down stairs.

Barrier skating

Friday, October 10 / 2008

Geoff Dermer, frontside feeble.
It seems that Barrier skateboarding in Vancouver has always been on the scene, new spots come and go but you can find barriers anywhere.. And with a little bondo and some time you can have yourself a nice little spot. While driving down an alley with came across this new one.

Adam Cassidy with a nice pivot grind to fakie.

Jordan Mayfield frontside ollie.
